Urumuri Hotel employees have been trained by Red Cross Rwanda officials on giving first aid to their customers in case of an accident.

Fred Nkusi, trainer from Red Cross Rwanda denotes that training was organized to equip the workers with first aid basic information and be of use in case a problem comes up whether to a customer or an employee at this hotel.

Nkusi explains: “workers are explained on the basics of first aid and after are taught how to put into practice with the help of Red Cross volunteers of Rwanda.”

Workers were trained on how to help a bleeding person before reaching the hospital, how to help a person with bone fracture, shortness of breath, electric shock, drowning and others.

Urumuri Hotel employees confessed they did not know anything about first aid before the training but are able to help now in case of a problem as Rose Nyiramana, one of the workers revealed.

“First aid training is necessary in organizations that receive many people as a way of saving lives in case of an accident,” Nyiramana adds

12 people out 32 employees of Urumuri Hotel in Gicumbi district will be trained  and the winners will be awarded certificates.
